Hello All – Happy New Year – sincerely hoping that 2017 brings you good health, good times, love & prosperity!!
Having said that – here’s my new year newsletter with a bit of a resolution tossed in for good measure.

This email is being sent to Premier Wynne, MPP Bill Walker (PC), many of my customers (Seasonal & Weekend Campers), business contacts, friends & family – in all it will reach over 300 people in one click of the SEND button.

As you should already be aware, there are major issues & problems in the way the prices of Hydro have risen in the Province of Ontario under the “leadership” of Kathleen Wynne and her Liberal party. The residents of this Province cannot absorb any more taxes – this government is bankrupting us (the people), small businesses and the Province as a whole. Even if you are a Liberal supporter, you cannot be exempt from the outrageous implementation of higher hydro delivery, global adjustment (which is hidden on your bills), costs to you and your family. Even if you find a way to conserve energy, the Delivery charges are exorbitant – people that have cottages, with breakers turned off for the winter, are getting hydro bills in excess of $100 for “Delivery.” Hydro One’s response to the delivery charges – “it costs a lot of money to deliver power to homes, especially rural. If you don’t use the hydro, that’s your choice, but the option is there for you. Therefore you must pay delivery.” It’s somewhat the same as putting snow tires on your car although you live in Texas, because it COULD snow.

Quite a lot of planning and discussion is taking place – there are many closed groups on Facebook that can be joined to get involved, support or just read the various posts.

People have died because hydro was disconnected, seniors in their own homes are sitting wrapped in blankets with a single lightbulb, families fighting to put food on the table for their children in order to be able to afford to pay their hydro bills, for fear that if they can’t pay, they’ll be disconnected. This is NOT a fabrication of the issues – THIS IS THE TRUTH!!!! Kathleen Wynne says she sees her hydro bills, but she’s been “blessed to have renovated her home making it more energy efficient” – must be nice – some people don’t have the financial resources available to buy weather stripping to keep the wind out of their homes.

The 2016 hydro bills here at the campground totalled over $35,000 – that is more than double from 2 years ago. The actual cost of the hydro used was $17,300 PLUS $15,000 (Global Adjustment), $10,600 (Delivery), then add on Regulatory Charges & Debt Reduction. In 2013/14, hydro was under $28,000 for TWO YEARS – all inclusive!!!!! Something wrong with this picture???

Our political leaders have forgotten that they WORK FOR US!!!! We pay their salaries -- $4M to the CEO of Hydro One!!!!! Why??? For Hydro One alone, there are more than 3,000 people on the Sunshine List (those are people that earn more than $100,000/year). Do you know anyone that makes $100,000/year – my guess is no.

Write to your MPPs, forward this email to friends & family – it doesn’t take a lot of time or effort – so far, as of today’s date, the notice to turn off hydro has been sent to 8 MILLION people!!!!!! It is going viral and our voices are being heard!!!!!

Please click on the following link to take you to a blog regarding issues related to how our government no longer “sees” us or “hears” us !!!

PLEASE JOIN US EVERY FRIDAY @ 6:00PM BY TURNING YOUR HYDRO OFF FOR ONLY ONE HOUR to show your support and let Hydro & Kathleen Wynne KNOW that we are not going to take it anymore – Turn your breaker off, go out for dinner or a walk. Just an hour. That’s all it will take – something has to improve if we keep together in solidarity.
Thank you!
